We’ve been around for more than a Century now, so new and fresh ideas can often be hard to come by. But the Group has evolved in that time and it’s because of trying new things that it has managed to keep running – and if we are to continue delivering Scouting within Ebbw Vale then we must be willing to welcome everyone’s ideas and try different things – or even things we’ve tried in the past which didn’t work out too well at the time.
The Suggestion Box is, as the name implies, where YOU can send us your ideas for what you would like to see the Group doing in terms of activities for our Members, or ways in which we can try to raise funds to run the Group with, or promote what we do, or encourage new members or new volunteer support. Or something else which we haven’t even thought of yet! And don’t worry if you think we may already have had the idea – if more than one of us thinks something may be worth trying then it probably is! Another way of looking at this Suggestion Box is as a way of having a Democratic say in the way in which the Group is run! – you don’t necessarily have to give us ideas about what we can try that is new, you can tell us what YOU think about what we are already doing!
Your suggestion can be anonymous if you like, but if you think we will need to talk to you more about your idea then we will need to know who you are!
Try to give as much detail as you can about your idea – “I think you ought to raise money for a trip” isn’t likely to get much attention, but “I think you ought to raise money for a trip by having a sponsored car wash” is! Similarly, if you’re expressing a view about something we already do, please tell us why you think what you do – constructive criticism is helpful, just being critical isn’t.
